We hear about infrastructure failures, whether bridge collapses, power blackouts, or water main breaks, every day in the news. Climate change and extreme weather events are disrupting the basic infrastructure we took for granted for years.
Citylitics is solving the hardest data problems in infrastructure while building the sales intelligence platform that enables a faster, more transparent, and more efficient infrastructure marketplace. We turn millions of unstructured documents into high value intelligence feeds and datasets that are available on an intuitive user experience. Our goal is to enable solution providers to connect with cities with relevant infrastructure needs in a faster and more digital way than historic market channels. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about transforming fragmented data into a strategic, scalable asset. This person will own the vision for how we structure and utilize data to build data products and features that directly benefit our customers.
You must possess a Product Development or Software background with a keen interest in Data Structuring and Schema Design. A deep technical understanding of data structures, data design best practices, and the ability to think critically about both data scalability and customer experience are highly desired. This is a foundational role where you will be instrumental in centralizing and standardizing our data initiatives, which are currently fragmented across multiple teams.
Manage the Roadmap for Core Data Models: Prioritize and define requirements for data structure improvements, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with upcoming product needs.
Bridge Data and Customer Value: Translate complex data capabilities into tangible, valuable product features, ensuring that the introduction of any new data point is meaningful and seamless for the customer.
Implement Foundational Data Systems: Develop and organize the data dictionaries, schemas, and associated value governance that will be foundational for all products and internal analytics across Citylitics.
Drive Data Standardization: Lead the effort to take fragmented, free-form data assets, and add structure and consistent treatment, evolving initial small-scale process operations into robust, production-grade pipelines.
Ensure Scalability and Quality: Partner closely with Data Engineering and Product teams to ensure data feature builds are not only scalable from an engineering standpoint but also optimized for data quality and integrity.
2+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Software Engineer, Data Analyst, or equivalent role with demonstrated product ownership responsibilities.
Demonstrated Interest and Experience in Data Organization, Data Structuring, Data Design, or Data Modeling with meaningful outcomes (e.g., improving feature performance, reducing data latency, increasing data fidelity).
Strong technical understanding of the advantages and limitations of different data modeling paradigms (SQL/NoSQL) and database designs.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver data-centric products.
Experience in designing processes to standardize, clean, and enrich data assets from diverse sources.
