Grande Prairie Public School Division Invites applications for RECEPTIONIST - CENTRAL OFFICE COMPETITION NUMBER: I2526-012 Permanent Full-Time Position, 35 hours per week Salary Range: $47,586 to $62,935 annually Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, April 27th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The Grande Prairie Public School Division is seeking a professional, service‑oriented Receptionist to provide front‑line customer service and administrative support to Central Office and the Human Resources Department. As the first point of contact, the Receptionist creates a welcoming and professional impression by responding to in‑person and telephone inquiries with courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism in a busy office environment. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position supports key HR functions, including confidential records management, employee data maintenance, and preparation of routine Human Resources documentation. The Receptionist contributes to the effective daily operations of Central Office by adhering to Division policies and procedures, exercising discretion and attention to detail, and presenting a positive image of the Division to staff, parents, and the public. Completion of a two (2) year Administrative Diploma

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing responsible clerical and/or administrative work, preferably with a school board
  • Experience with PowerSchool/School Engage are considered an asset
  • Excellent technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint)
  • Experience working within a Human Resources or centralized office setting considered an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and records management practices

Act as a first point of contact and provide general information to staff, parents, and the public

  • Provide general information and assistance to staff, parents, and the public
  • Answer and route incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
  • Sort, distribute, and respond to electronic and physical mail, including parcels and deliveries
  • Continuously monitoring the general office processes for the team, and where required, takes the initiative to streamline processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and filing systems
  • Monitor office supply inventory, place orders, and arrange servicing of office equipment
