Join the team at the train station of one of the largest living history museums in Canada! As a Train Conductor you will use your passion for customer service to deliver an outstanding first impression for our guests as they begin their journey through history. You will be an integral part of the crew on the Heritage Steam Train ensuring every passenger has a safe and memorable experience.
In this role you will oversee the boarding traveling and disembarking of hundreds of passengers each day. Working under the guidance of the Head Conductor and reporting to the Chief Train Operator you will facilitate the smooth operation of the train in accordance with historical and safety guidelines. Your commitment to safety is paramount as you will follow specific transportation guidelines and procedures to protect all visitors. Ultimately you help bring history to life while maintaining a clean orderly and welcoming environment for everyone on board.

Provide excellent customer service and engage passengers with the history of the railway
Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions to the Chief or Shift Engineer
Follow all Alberta Transportation guidelines and Heritage Steam Train General Operating Instructions
Assist with day-to-day routine department decision-making and escalate customer concerns when appropriate
Support an inclusive and safe workplace culture and assist with organizational diversity initiatives
Assets:
Previous experience working on trains or within similar transportation services
Conversational skills in languages other than English
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to complete all required training including Alberta Transportation Rail Sections 1 3 6 and 7

Must arrange your own transportation as the Park often operates outside of regular public transit hours
Availability for weekday and weekend shifts including occasional extended hours or overtime during the summer season

Primarily an outdoor and onsite position working in all weather conditions
Physical demands include frequent walking standing pushing pulling crouching and climbing between train cars and platforms
Exposure to noise chemicals smells and common allergens such as hay pollen and dust
Up to 3 temporary part-time positions for up to 5 months with a possibility of extension for up to 11 months

Salary Range: $20.320 (Hourly)
