Job Responsibility:
Overview The Program Director reports to the Board of Directors and is chiefly responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and organizational objectives.
The Program Director is accountable for the implementation of all policies and programs related to child development and care, human resources, finance, equipment and facilities, family and community relations and governance of the childcare Centre
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of program strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
Supervise program staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Ability to understand and follow assigned budget, including monitoring expenditures, and ensuring financial accountability.
Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback mechanisms, making adjustments as necessary.
Prepare reports for The Board of Directors on program progress and outcomes.
Foster relationships with community partners and parents to enhance program visibility and impact.
Qualifications (MUST HAVE)
Minimum of three (3) years' experience and demonstrated proficiency in a supervisory position in a licensed childcare setting.
Demonstrated ability to supervise diverse teams effectively.
Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and meets the standards for qualification as required by the Ontario Ministry of Education
Member in good standing of the College of Early Child Educators
Knowledge of childcare programming within an Emergent Curriculum model and developmentally appropriate practices
Experience
Proven experience in administrative roles with a focus on program management.
Strong financial skills with experience in resource allocation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and transparently to various audiences.
A background in nonprofit or community-based organizations is preferred but not required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Initiative and flexibility, with the ability to adapt quickly to situations in a dynamic work environment.
Above average ability to work independently, multi-task, time management, and organizational skills.
Anticipates and is responsive to address issues and concerns at work.
The incumbent will have an in-depth understanding of governance practices ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Proactive, responsible, prompt and reliable attendance at work
Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR C Certification or able to to attain same.
Working knowledge of: Child Care Early Years Act, 2014, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, City of Toronto Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement, Early Learning for Every Child Today and How Does Learning Happen?
This role is essential for driving our programs forward and ensuring they meet the needs of our community while adhering to organizational standards and a demonstrated ability to follow and implement spending limits. We are looking for a proactive leader who is passionate about making a difference through effective program management.
