Accounting Analyst, Logistics

We are looking for an organized and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Accounting Analyst for our Brampton, ON office.
Responsibilities:
Compile and analyze data from the general ledger system and various departments to prepare accurate and consolidated financial statements.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
Execute full-cycle bookkeeping encompassing monthly accounting entries, financial reporting, and period-end close procedures.
Utilize advanced spreadsheet tools to develop, analyze, and validate financial reports ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Maintain precise financial records by preparing general ledger entries and performing thorough account reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for compilation engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
Identify opportunities to strengthen internal accounting procedures and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
Provide support during monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Handle sensitive financial data with the utmost discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to gather financial information and provide meaningful insights that support business decisions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is often required
• 2+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting or related field.
• Experience in the Logistics / Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
• Professional experience with reporting packages (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), databases and general programming languages Professional experience in data mining, cleaning, and segmentation is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience with payment applications.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns, trends and discrepancies.
• Ability to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
