Finance Planning & Analysis Analyst H/F

Our Toronto office is located in the heart of the financial district, with prime access to public transit, which makes it ideal for commuters. Responsible for the analysis and reporting of financial information for the combined SE offices, including preparing budgets, forecasts, cash projections, monthly consolidated reports, year-end audit, and financial presentation material for senior management. The Senior Financial Analyst is involved in decisions with respect to partner distributions, points and recapitalization. Also weighs in on projects relating to firm-wide initiatives.
Budget/Forecasting/Analysis/Reporting:
Prepare monthly analysis and management reporting packages
Prepare financial presentations for firm-wide Partner meetings
Prepare financial analysis and commentary for the quarterly Partnership Board package
Treasury:
Monitor daily cash balances and ensure sufficient funds exist in the bank accounts.
Manage cash flow and projections along with presentation materials for senior management
Liaise with financial institutions for cash and related investments
Partnership Support and Accounting:
Responsible for partner accounting in conjunction with Montreal, including making recommendations for distribution policies, points deliberations, and capitalization decisions
Liaise with accounting department for month end journal entries and related account reconciliations
Identify, develop and implement process improvements to the planning, budgeting and reporting processes
Support a variety of firm-wide projects with a focus on optimizing and automating processes
5+ years of experience in accounting/budgeting/forecasting/analytical & reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or MBA is required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and analysis
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Experience with building and maintaining financial models and charts.
- Excellent self-management skills, prioritization, and project balancing.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex data to stakeholders
- Knowledge of Aderant and SQL is an asset
