Position: Senior Cloud Systems Engineer

Position Status: Regular Full Time

Hours: Standard EST Office Hours, 24x7 on-call rotation

Department: Information Technology

Location: Remote, Canada

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead our cloud infrastructure initiatives and drive technical innovation. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic architectural planning and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with major cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure, and a proven track record of implementing secure, scalable cloud solutions.

10+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role with 5+ in a cloud environment

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft server technologies
• Experience with enterprise data protection and data lifecycle management
• Understanding of network protocols, switching, and routing
• Must have good verbal, written (English) and interpersonal skills
• Design and Implementation: Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.

Security and Compliance: Develop and enforce cloud security policies and procedures to protect data and applications from unauthorized access and potential security threats

Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost through effective monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud strategies align with technical and business goals

Facilitate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for application releases and updates.

Disaster Recovery: Lead disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of emergencies
