Position: Senior Specialized IT Consultant
Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
This position is provisionally Onsite , requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM , Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). The Ministry requires one (1) Senior Specialized IT Consultant to support enterprise data integration, information management modernization, and sustainment activities across CSC‑managed platforms. Strategic advisory on IM/IT modernization initiatives
Expertise in Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica ETL, and enterprise data warehousing
Architecture and design support aligned with Ontario Digital Platform (ODP) standards.
Partner with clients to enhance business objectives through optimized IM/IT use
Improve the structure, performance, and efficiency of enterprise systems, including Oracle Data Integrator and Informatica ETL
Provide subject matter expertise throughout procurement, implementation, and technical decision‑making
Lead or support sustainment activities across CSC platforms (release support, upgrades, urgent priorities, crisis fixes, platform stability work).
ETL design, development, and optimization of large‑scale enterprise data solutions
Data warehouse architecture components, data mapping, data models, and DDL scripts
Performance optimization of ETL code and SQL queries
Development of dashboards, reporting, and BI artifacts using Cognos and/or Power BI
Unix scripting documentation and system integration logic
RDBMS SQL/DML/DDL deliverables across Oracle and DB2.
5+ years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and/or Informatica ETL tools
- Strong experience in ETL development, data warehousing, and large‑scale data migration
- Proven ability to optimize ETL performance and tune SQL queries (Oracle, DB2)
- Demonstrated experience with Unix scripting (including complex korn‑shell scripts)
- Working knowledge of data mapping, data dictionary structures, and business process re‑engineering
- Experience designing RDBMS SQL, DML, and DDL across Oracle and DB2
- Hands‑on experience debugging ETL components (mappings, transformations, mapplets, qualifiers)
- Experience designing and implementing BI/analytics using Cognos 10+ and/or Power BI.
Demonstrated experience working in an environment with Oracle + Informatica + Cognos integrated together
Knowledge of aggregate reporting and hybrid ETL orchestration using SSIS and Fabric Data Factory
Experience troubleshooting production issues and creating emergency deployment fixes
