Supply Chain & Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Procurement Specialist (Non-IT) – Intermediate Location: Edmonton, AB (Onsite)

Client: Public Sector

Duration: 6+ Month Contract (12 Months Extension Possible)

Note

We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist (Non-IT) – Intermediate with strong experience in public sector procurement, RFP development, vendor evaluation, and contract management . The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring compliance with government policies, and maintaining accurate procurement documentation.

Key Skills & Expertise

• 4+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles
• Strong experience in RFP, RFQ, RFI preparation and execution
• Expertise in vendor evaluation, bid analysis, and contract negotiations
• Experience with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba / 1GX and SharePoint
• Knowledge of procurement policies, trade agreements, and compliance standards
• Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Experience / Requirements

Relevant post-secondary education in procurement, supply chain, business, or related field (minimum 2-year diploma)

Experience independently handling RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and tendering processes

Experience in vendor management, negotiations, and contract execution

Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)

Experience maintaining procurement documentation and audit-compliant records

Ability to organize and manage files, contracts, and procurement records efficiently

Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members

Responsibilities

Support development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with project goals

Prepare and manage RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and solicitation documents

Analyze and refine business and technical requirements

Conduct vendor bid evaluation, scoring, and compliance checks

Assist in contract finalization and vendor onboarding processes

Organize bidder conferences, vendor presentations, and debrief sessions

Maintain accurate and audit-compliant procurement records (SharePoint / systems)

Perform post-procurement reviews and vendor performance evaluations

Provide procurement recommendations and evaluation reports

Support stakeholders by interpreting procurement documents and responding to vendor queries

Nice to Have

SCMP certification or equivalent procurement certification

Experience with SAP Ariba / 1GX procurement systems

Knowledge of Financial Administration Act, FOIP Act, Public Works Act

Experience working in government or public sector environments

Experience in cost-benefit analysis (quantitative & qualitative)
