STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - ENERGY SECTOR - SENIOR (H/F)

Wood currently has several opportunities for Senior Structural Engineers to join our team in our Vancouver, BC office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced structural engineer with a strong background in heavy industrial projects, including Bio Products, Oil & Gas, and Pulp & Paper facilities. You will play a key technical and leadership role, delivering structural engineering solutions from concept through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.

The role includes technical leadership, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers, and direct engagement with clients to ensure project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost are achieved.

Attend client and project meetings (Office / Job sites).

Execution of projects to meet client needs and expectations.

Perform structural steel and concrete design

Preparation of technical reports and calculation packages as project deliverables.

Working with designers on the project collaboratively to produce design deliverable.

Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications.

Authenticate structural engineering deliverables.

Interface with other disciplines, project management to execute work per the Project Plan.

Interface with workshare team from other Wood global offices

Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Wood and its clients.

Conducting field reviews at project work sites

Broad experience designing structures in Oil & Gas and Pulp & Paper projects

In-depth knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (Alberta Edition).

Strong background and experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.

Proficiency in modeling and analysis using SAP2000, RISA 3D, and STAADPro.

Experience in design of modification to existing facilities

Field construction support experience.

Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports.

Willingness to travel and accept short-term field assignments.
