As a Senior Back End Developer, you will play a key role in exciting new projects aimed at helping Canadians simplify the lending process and make it as stress-free as possible. You will collaborate with the existing backend team to regularly create and develop internal projects and applications.
NOTE: This is a full-time, on-site position located at our downtown Vancouver office.
Developing, enhancing and maintaining in-house, and customer-facing applications
Focusing primarily on backend work with PHP/Python/Javascript
Working in backend frameworks such as Laravel, Django, Express etc.
Our tech stack is PHP/Laravel for the backend and Vue/Nuxt on the frontend
Newer services are now built serverless (node/python runtimes) in AWS
Implementing serverless and containerization platforms on AWS
Mentoring and leading junior/intermediate developers
Ensure sufficient code coverage by writing effective unit tests
Creating technical content for JIRA tasks/sub-tasks, breaking down complex requirements
Actively participate in architectural systems design along with senior team members
Working closely with project managers, quality and business analysts to ensure the completion of projects on time with the quality expected
Being part of exciting multidisciplinary projects that might require interaction with Front End, Data Science, DevOps teams.
4+ years of professional experience with either PHP, Python
- 4+ years experience with Javascript
- 2+ years with modern JS framework (Vue, Angular, React, Nuxt)
- 4 + years experience with Linux
- 5+ years with a relational database such as MySQL, Postgres
- You have experience with using and building REST-style APIs, and GraphQL
- Experience with backend MVC frameworks (Laravel 8-11)
- Experience working under Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) using Jira and confluence
- Bonus: AWS knowledge, especially the serverless stack (SAM, Serverless)
- Bonus: Bonus: E-commerce (Shopify) experience and payment gateway integrations
- Bonus: Responsive layouts are no problems for you with or without grid frameworks
- Bonus: Experience with CSS3 advanced features such as animations, transitions, flex-box, etc.
