Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Clinical Assistant to join the Chronic Disease Services team in West Vancouver BC and other North Shore work sites as operationally required. As a Clinical Assistant you will report to the Manager or delegate providing extensive clinical and clerical medical office duties to support the smooth function of the Primary Health Care Clinic/Program.
Grade 12 graduation from a Medical Office Assistant program one (1) year of recent related clinical medical office support experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Working knowledge of clinical policies procedures and objectives.
Working knowledge of community resources and agencies.
Working knowledge of office procedures.
Business writing skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to perform basic medical tests and accurately assess and record results in medical files.
Ability to respond independently and effectively to emergent situation and effectively present health information to individuals.
Ability to keyboard 5000 keystrokes per hour.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Demonstrated skill in using a variety of office equipment and computer software programs.
This position supports physicians with the North Shore Geriatric Assessment Clinic. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per Ministry of Health policy all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
