HSE Safety Advisor

The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our safety department based out of our Moncton, NB office. A Health and Safety Advisor partners with operations teams to provide guidance, support, and practical solutions that reinforce a positive safety culture and drive safe work practices. Coach and mentor employees and supervisors on safety programs, policies, and procedures
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to encourage best practices
Investigate incidents and near-misses and help develop corrective and preventive measures
Promote open dialogue around safety issues and encourage a culture of accountability and care
Participate in audits (COR) and contribute to the maintenance of safety certifications
Assist with compiling safety metrics and reporting for leadership
Construction experience and training preferred
Competent with Microsoft Office and safety management software (e.g. eCompliance)
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Must be willing and able to travel within New Brunswick
Construction experience – hands-on site knowledge is valuable
