Part-Time - Psychologist

Your Opportunity:

This position is based out of the Camrose Professional Centre. You would be part of the Camrose Pediatric Specialty Clinics, the multidisciplinary team provides assessment diagnostic support services to our Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Clinics and related concerns (e.g. cognition, attention and focus, adaptive functioning, and behavior). Providing cognitive, psychoeducational, and diagnostic assessments. Providing recommendations to families, reports, and referrals to front line services. A secondary focus of this position is acting as a resource to our frontline therapists and social workers. This position primarily provides clinics out of the Camrose Professional Centre and once a month in Maskwacis. Camrose is located about 50 minutes out of Edmonton, however, is a standalone city that is a hub for surrounding farming towns. Camrose has a charming downtown with small shops and cafes but still has larger box stores. The city is known for its strong arts community, cross country skiing paths/running trails, and a state-of-the-art recreation centre.

Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Applications from Provisional Psychologists may be considered.
