GHDs Engineering Design Organization is seeking a Civil Engineer in GHDs Vancouver office.
Were seeking the curious those who are stimulated by fresh thinking and a desire to shape our communities in new positive ways.
As part of a truly global team working on complex and rewarding projects youll be at the forefront of driving change.
Manage medium and large-scale integrated watershed and infrastructure planning/design projects
Producing conceptual and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of civil and water infrastructure projects including site grading water distribution wastewater and stormwater systems and linear utility design.
Supporting or leading design work in an integrated 3D environment that meets company and industry standards.
Applying technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multi-disciplinary projects
Act as a technical lead for a defined scope of work
Participating in water and wastewater pumping station design treatment facility design and system assessments.
Supporting infrastructure planning asset management and capital upgrade programs for municipal clients.
Contributing to the development of proposals and project strategies.
Mentoring junior staff and supporting their technical growth and career development.
Experience in creating conceptual and detailed design models and producing related drawings for civil design projects
Strong knowledge of Civil 3D for corridor and pipe network modeling and familiarity with hydraulic modeling platforms.
Experience with water sanitary and storm infrastructure design and construction.
Familiarity with MMCD and municipal servicing standards.
Preparation of specifications cost estimates technical reports and tender documents.
Design-Build or P3) is an asset.
Experience or interest in green infrastructure combined sewer overflow management and sustainable design practices.
Working as a team receiving mentorship and guidance from Senior staff and providing mentorship and supervision and oversight of Junior staff
Extensive experience of using pipe network module in Civil 3D.
5-10 years of civil design experience
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
- Interest or experience with new design tools and technologies such as BIM platforms design programming visualizations and automation are considered assets
