Reporting to the Grocery Manager, the Food Store Cashier is responsible for providing world-class customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Key responsibilities include operating the cash register, processing payments accurately, assisting with product merchandising, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained throughout the store. This position requires a positive attitude, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Operate cash registers, process transactions, and handle various payment methods
Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards
Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Strong customer service and communication skills
Able to deal with customers and team members sensitively, tactfully, and diplomatically
This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, and weekends.
