ELECTRONICS ENGINEER – AUTOMOTIVE (PRODUCTION & VALIDATION FOCUS)
Location: Belleville, ON
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 + benefits
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is not a traditional design-focused engineering role.
You will act as the on-site electronics expert, supporting production, quality, and validation teams while working alongside a remote design group. As products become more complex (LED lighting, embedded electronics), the plant requires a hands-on engineer to lead failure analysis, resolve production issues, and drive continuous improvement.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone who enjoys solving real-world problems in a manufacturing environment.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Historically, the plant has relied on an external design team, which has created delays in:
Root cause investigations
Warranty analysis
Validation follow-up
Production issue resolution
This position has been created to bring that expertise on-site, improving responsiveness, product quality, and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead root cause analysis of warranty returns and production failures
Support validation and product engineering teams with technical investigations
Troubleshoot live production issues on the manufacturing floor
Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives (VAVE)
Provide electronic support for manufacturing equipment and processes
Support product validation through the full lifecycle into production
Review and interpret PCB layouts (modifications rather than full design ownership)
Investigate and resolve EMC-related issues
Conduct testing, simulation, and benchmarking of electronic systems
Act as a technical resource to support and develop internal team knowledge
ROLE STRUCTURE
Approximately 70% hands-on (production floor and lab work)
Approximately 30% desk-based (analysis, reporting, validation, cost initiatives)

Qualifications
Required:
Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments
Strong Experience In
Failure analysis and root cause investigation
Product validation and testing
Troubleshooting electronics in production
Solid Understanding Of
Analog and digital circuits
PCB layouts (Altium or similar preferred)
EMC principles and troubleshooting
Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment
Preferred
Experience with automotive lighting or LED systems
Exposure to embedded systems or software
Experience with cost reduction or VAVE initiatives
Background in design engineering
