Support Worker (Casual/Full-Time/Part-Time)

Are you a LifeSkills Support Worker looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Mental Health and Addictions Services – ACT Team department.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position is responsible for assisting mental health and addiction clients with services as outlined in an individual’s care plan, with the goal of maximizing independent living. The duties include monitoring of client functions, assisting with medications, personal hygiene, meal preparation, socialization, household management, money management, housing, recreation, transportation, training and vocations skills. Completion of a Resident Care Attendant Program Certificate and a Community Mental Health Worker Course plus two (2) years’ experience working with clients with a mental illness, or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR.
Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Food Safe.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
