Maintenance Aide
Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is now hiring for a Maintanence Aide.

Summary:
Assist in maintaining the grounds, facilities and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on the facilities and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs a variety of general, preventative, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs in the buildings and on the grounds. Conducts daily, weekly and monthly inspections of the facility. Is on-call on weekends and evenings as scheduled. Responsible for snow and ice removal. Maintains walk areas and sidewalks in a safe manner. Familiar with main utilities shutoffs and all alarm systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job requires lifting, pushing and pulling, and moving of over 50 pounds. The work is in all areas inside and outside of the facilities. The employee must stoop, kneel, reach, handle, climb, hear, talk, see and be able to move intermittently during working hours. May work in cramped areas and in adverse weather conditions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Follows established safety procedures and OSHA requirements when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assures that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are stored properly before leaving the area or at the end of the day. Follows established fire and safety procedures. Keeps Maintenance Director informed of any problems, breakdowns or malfunctions of equipment in the facilities. Assures that the facilities and equipment are properly maintained for resident safety, comfort and convenience and in conformity with the trade practices. Respects resident’ rights and dignity. Follows nursing home policies and procedures. Reports any suspected resident abuse as required by government regulations and the nursing home policies. Responsible to respond to all calls in a timely manner. Attend all required inservices and seminars. Mandatory inservices must be met within time required. Required to follow established policies in regard to tardiness, attendance, and dress code. Serves as a positive ambassador to Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, residents, staff, visitors and the community.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must know how to repair and operate various machines and equipment. Have some expertise and practice in one or two building trades. Must be available for on-call as needed.
