Moving Van and Transport Truck Drivers Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Moving Van and Transport Truck Drivers to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare relevant documentation, such as trip reports, bills of lading, etc. and report it to the manager for confirmation and quality assurance;
- Communicate with dispatch on a daily basis to ensure smooth transportation of goods;
- Prepare the load for pickup by conducting an itemized condition report and padding the load;
- Secure the load in the trailer to ensure safe transportation;
- Comply with rules and regulation of Ministry of Transportation by adhering to safety requirements;
- Communicate with customers during loading and offloading to ensure timely delivery of goods;
- Maintain driver’s daily and weekly logbook by recording cargo information, fuel consumption as well as service hours and distance;
- General operation of trucks across Canadian routes.
Requirements:
- Operating knowledge of GPS and other navigation tools;
- Valid Class 1/3 or A/D license and airbrakes/Z endorsement;
- Knowledge and understanding of transportation and logistics operations;
- Clean Driving Record;
- No formal education required;
- Weight handling up to 100 lbs;
- Good knowledge of English and fair command of customer service skills;
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude to work;
- Previous experience is an asset but not required – on-the-job training would be provided;
- Willingness to continuously travel.
