An environmental sampler is responsible for collecting and analyzing samples of air, water, soil, and other materials to determine the presence of pollutants or other harmful substances. This role requires attention to detail and knowledge of sampling techniques and laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field sampling and testing of environmental samples such as water, soil and air
- Follow established protocols and procedures to collect, document and transport environmental samples to the laboratory for analysis
- Ensure that all sampling equipment is properly maintained and cleaned to prevent cross-contamination
- Document and report sampling and testing results in a clear and concise manner
- Keep accurate records of all samples collected, including location and time of collection
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and guidelines
- Work with other team members to plan and execute sampling projects
- Attend training sessions and stay up-to-date on new sampling techniques and equipment
Requirements:
- Must possess a degree in environmental science or a related field
- Experience in environmental sampling and analysis techniques
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines
- Ability to collect and analyze samples in a variety of settings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied hours and travel to different locations as needed
