Our company is looking for a Computer-assisted Machinist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables;
  • Report to management on any safety hazards related to manufacturing process in order to address them in a timely manner;
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance;
  • Conduct tests, inspections and preventive maintenance of production environment, or processes to evaluate quality or performance;
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns, for example on a factory production line;
  • Conduct assembly and testing of new production equipment and machinery;
  • Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability;
  • Perform all above-mentioned duties in accordance with health and safety standards and company policies;
  • Detect and replace faulty parts of the production equipment and re-setting instrument controls in a timely manner, as needed;
  • Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations;
  • Weekly maintenance of machineries to ensure precision and consistency of production;
  • Use programming skills to program and operate Computer Numerically Controlled machine tools.

Requirements:

  • Good English language skills;
  • the ability to repair and maintain machines or systems;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong technical knowledge of precision machining and manufacturing methods;
  • Experience in food industry is an asset;
  • Excellent time and stress management skills;
  • Secondary School Diploma;
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables;
  • 4 + years of full-time experience in a similar capacity with at least 1 of them being related to programming (PLC and SCADA programming skills).
