Our company is looking for a Head of Waterfront to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily supervision throughout camp of quality waterfront programming and safety standards;
  • Organize/provide daily instruction and lifeguarding for SRM Day Camp swimming lessons;
  • Create weekly schedules for the lifeguards/swim instructors;
  • Act as primary members of HOC Emergency Response Team;
  • Organize/book swim test times for the LITs/CITs;
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to lifeguards and ensure that they are meeting HOC’s programming and safety standards;
  • Provide assistance to HOC Health Care Team;
  • Teach various waterfront classes daily, or as required;
  • Organize and facilitate scheduled Emergency Response Team training practices for all waterfront staff;
  • Role Specific Responsibilities Assist the Program Director, when needed;
  • Supervision and delegation of daily program development time, ensuring waterfront program areas is presentable and clean;
  • Be available to assist Camp Directors as required or when instructional schedule allows;
  • Organize/provide daily supervision and lifeguarding for free swim periods and sections activities;
  • The dynamic nature of summer camp demands each staff understand that additional duties may be assigned as required;
  • All Program staff are required to attend the May program development weekend.

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to take part in camp related activities outside the defined job description;
  • Valid G driver’s license;
  • NLS certification;
  • Must be an enthusiastic, energetic and positive person;
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Lifeguarding experience mandatory;
  • A minimum of 18 years of age;
  • Water Safety Instructors certification;
  • Genuine interest in working with children in the community;
  • Pleasure Craft Operators Card;
  • Experience working with children of varied ages in a supervisory or teaching situation. Specific camp experience an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, evaluate and deal effectively with problem-solving situations within the area of responsibility.
