Our company is looking for a Camp Only Program Instructor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly all staff and staff team meetings (Sunday- Program Staff, Thursday- All-Staff) or as scheduled;
  • Sunday Camper Registration (work brigades, registration, program demonstrations);
  • Additional classes and supervision as required;
  • Saturday Check Out (3 hours on Saturday, twice a summer);
  • Preparation of alternative “Rainy Day” programs;
  • Wednesday cabin coverage to facilitate counsellor evening off;
  • Evening activity instruction (Monday, Tuesday) (1 Hour);
  • Daily program development/maintenance time (1 Hour);
  • The dynamic nature of summer camp demands each staff understand that additional duties may be assigned as required;
  • All Program staff are required to attend the May program development weekend;
  • Complete daily attendance sheets and head counts for each class;
  • Monday to Friday- Instruct 5-6 one hour programs for camper groups of 10-12 ranging in age from 7-16;
  • Thursday- compose detailed camper evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Must possess strong creative programming skills;
  • Must be an enthusiastic, energetic and positive person;
  • Must be comfortable working independently;
  • Must possess strong group control skills;
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Must be willing to take part in camp related activities outside the defined job description;
  • Must possess strong initiative skills;
  • A minimum of 16 years of age;
  • Genuine interest in working with children;
  • Minimum Bronze Cross Award, NLS preferred;
  • Experience teaching and communicating to children of varied ages. Specific camp experience an asset.
