Our company is looking for a Summer Student – Edmonton Office to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Protect confidential information and share only when legally obligated;
- Assist with recruitment activities as required;
- Provide administrative support for departments at Backwoods as requested;
- Electronic Filing of Toolbox Talks, Inspections, Near Misses, FLHA’s, JSA’s;
- Assist Indigenous Employee Development Lead in program implementation and data management;
- Support a team on a wide range of administrative functions;
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly, monthly health and safety performance and activity reports;
- Assist with HSE manual changes, formatting and document control;
- Assist HSE Administrator in the administration, implementation and maintenance of a Health & Safety Management Systems;
- Assist HR Coordinator with LMS System (BisTrainer) audits, other HR program administration;
- Contact employees for copies of their treaty cards and TD1IN;
- Plan, organize, coordinate and manage daily assigned work in support of AP, AR and Payroll functions;
- Provide customer service assistance by performing reception duties, responding to public and/or internal inquiries;
- General office work such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and other duties as assigned;
- Prepare and organize correspondence, perform data entry and word processing functions, and create various documents.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PPT, Outlook);
- Flexible, approachable and professional;
- Avoid conflicts of interest;
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills;
- Students must not have another full-time summer job;
- Members of the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation will be given first consideration, Indigenous students from other communities will be considered thereafter;
- Capable of working with and around confidential information;
- Works well in a fast-paced environment;
- Students must have completed at least one year of the post-secondary program;
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable speaking with employees, management, vendors, customers, and subcontractors via phone or e-mail;
- Positive attitude; strong team player who is willing to go above and beyond.
