An Accounting Assistant supports the finance department by performing tasks such as bookkeeping, maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with audits. Responsibilities include data entry, report generation, and budget tracking.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic accounting functions such as recording transactions, preparing invoices, and posting payments
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including reviewing and reconciling vendor and customer statements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, for review by the accounting team
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Monitor and track budget vs. actual expenses and report any variances to management
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
