s.r.m. day camp instructor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a s.r.m. day camp instructor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of alternative “Rainy Day” programs;
- Wednesday cabin coverage to facilitate counsellor evening off;
- Monday to Friday- work daily with SRM Day Camp campers ages 5-12 between 9:30 am- 3:30 pm;
- Attend weekly all staff and staff team meetings (Sunday- Program Staff, Thursday- All-Staff) or as scheduled;
- Sunday Camper Registration (work brigades, registration, program demonstrations);
- Additional classes and supervision as required;
- Saturday Check Out (3 hours on Saturday, twice a summer);
- Daily program development/maintenance time (1 Hour);
- Evening activity instruction (Monday, Tuesday) (1 Hour);
- Thursday- compose detailed camper evaluations;
- The dynamic nature of summer camp demands each staff understand that additional duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements:
- Genuine interest in working with children in the community;
- Must be willing to take part in camp related activities outside the defined job description;
- Must be an enthusiastic, energetic and positive person;
- Emergency First Aid and CPR certification;
- Experience teaching and communicating to children of varied ages. Specific camp experience an asset;
- A minimum of 16 years of age;
- Minimum Bronze Cross Award, NLS preferred.
