Our company is looking for a Property Accounting Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Input / feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements;
  • Understanding of Ontario property taxes and recovery calculation methods for recoveries and tax appeal adjustments;
  • Full understanding of all property specific processes and upkeep of pertinent information relating to specific properties;
  • Participate in Yardi training and conversion; able to provide leadership and guidance as needed;
  • New and existing property set up, analysis, and follow up of outstanding issues as required.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of accounting and internal controls and procedures;
  • Accounting designation (i.e. CGA, CMA, CA) completed;
  • Decision Making Skills – ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems; ability to take decisive action; ability to resolve conflict;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Strong management skills with the ability to motivate and influence others;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Minimum three years accounting supervisory experience in the property management industry;
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude;
  • Minimum 5 years commercial/retail property accounting experience, including some supervision of staff;
  • Previous retail property accounting experience would be an asset;
  • Solid understanding of accounting for co-ownerships;
  • Qualified CA/CMA/CGA designation or relevant work experience in full cycle property accounting;
  • Extensive knowledge of property management accounting.
