Project Engineer – Mechanical Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Project Engineer – Mechanical to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage capital projects including the development of project requirements, project scope, budget, and schedule;
- Prepare project progress reports;
- Ensure technical information, engineering drawings are updated;
- Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.);
- Coordinate contract engineering services when required;
- Technical contribution;
- Sales support;
- Contract management;
- Ensure project deliverables are met and are completed on time and on budget;
- Project performance management KPI’s monitoring reporting and controlling;
- Review equipment design, troubleshooting mechanical problems, recommending solutions;
- Manage plant technical records including maintenance of up-to-date drawings and equipment files ;
- Prepare weekly cost summary updates;
- Provide capital projects monthly scorecard forecasting;
- Provide mechanical engineering support to ongoing product development and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Active registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC;
- Experience with Engineering drawing software such as autocad;
- Previous detailed engineering and machine design experience;
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
- Preparation of Gantt charts for project planning and scheduling, pre-planning and resource forecasting;
- This position will require some travel, international, and domestic;
- Knowledge and application of applicable provincial codes, standards and regulatory compliance requirements;
- Ability to problem solve and expedite solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing safety and quality issues;
- Familiarity with industrial plant and process equipment (rotating machinery, piping, etc.);
- Site construction management experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering;
- Strong sense of urgency, enthusiasm, and a proven history of relentless execution; and;
- Asset – PMP certification;
- Ability to create project control reports;
- Past on-site experience in an industrial environment.
