Our company is looking for a Project Engineer – Mechanical to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage capital projects including the development of project requirements, project scope, budget, and schedule;
  • Prepare project progress reports;
  • Ensure technical information, engineering drawings are updated;
  • Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.);
  • Coordinate contract engineering services when required;
  • Technical contribution;
  • Sales support;
  • Contract management;
  • Ensure project deliverables are met and are completed on time and on budget;
  • Project performance management KPI’s monitoring reporting and controlling;
  • Review equipment design, troubleshooting mechanical problems, recommending solutions;
  • Manage plant technical records including maintenance of up-to-date drawings and equipment files ;
  • Prepare weekly cost summary updates;
  • Provide capital projects monthly scorecard forecasting;
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to ongoing product development and manufacturing improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Active registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC;
  • Experience with Engineering drawing software such as autocad;
  • Previous detailed engineering and machine design experience;
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
  • Preparation of Gantt charts for project planning and scheduling, pre-planning and resource forecasting;
  • This position will require some travel, international, and domestic;
  • Knowledge and application of applicable provincial codes, standards and regulatory compliance requirements;
  • Ability to problem solve and expedite solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing safety and quality issues;
  • Familiarity with industrial plant and process equipment (rotating machinery, piping, etc.);
  • Site construction management experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering;
  • Strong sense of urgency, enthusiasm, and a proven history of relentless execution; and;
  • Asset – PMP certification;
  • Ability to create project control reports;
  • Past on-site experience in an industrial environment.
