Our company is looking for a cfo to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the annual preparation and audit of the company’s pension plan financial statements for submission to provincial regulators (FSRA);
  • Supervise the preparation and completion of audited annual financial statements in conjunction with external auditors;
  • Ad hoc reporting to support business decisions and new business initiatives;
  • Preparation of annual income tax filings for CRA and various provincial jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  • A well-developed understanding of the investment industry and the capital markets;
  • Effectively delegates authority and encourages independence;
  • Ability to lead, supervise, mentor and motivate staff;
  • Ability to interact well with and respond to inquiries from all levels of staff, including senior leadership, Council and ratepayers;
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable accounting system is an asset;
  • Experience creating a collaborative culture and environment of cross-functional engagement, high performance and measurable results;
  • Understanding of broad-based systems and technology (architecture, business analysis, applications and infrastructure);
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with employees, peers, Treasury Board Members and Siksika Governance;
  • Proven leadership skills with 8 to 10 years of senior management experience in the areas of finance, accounting and administration;
  • Demonstrate flexibility and demonstrate strong communication skills and leadership ability;
  • Post-graduate university degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA);
  • Motivate Siksika Nation Administration staff within tight deadlines and multi-tasking several projects;
  • Exceptionally strong business and financial acumen coupled with a results orientation to optimize resources and with a continuous improvement lens;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business specializing in Accounting, or Finance, MBA highly desirable.
