  • Provide supervision to staff to ensure quality customer service;
  • Set and maintain high store standards, ensuring they are implemented and checked on a daily basis;
  • Create the weekly work schedule;
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor staff members;
  • Ensure all prepared items are properly labeled, covered and rotated;
  • Maintain department inventory by placing product orders regularly while adhering to budgets;
  • Work alongside and support the Store Manager in achieving all store targets, budgets and goals;
  • Must able to work on word, excel with excellent knowledge of spread sheet, electronic scheduler, inventory control, point of sale system;
  • Efficiently stock and display product in a neat and appealing manner to ensure quality and freshness;
  • Instil the importance of the Hunter experience and ensure customer service at the highest level and lead by example;
  • Work with the Store Manager to develop short, mid and long term development plans and goals for the store team, monitoring progress on a regular basis;
  • Support and manage a high performing customer facing and service orientated store team.


  • Customer service experience is an asset;
  • Exemplary listening, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to motivate, train, and coach others to a higher level of success and accountability;
  • Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours);
  • Planning and organizational skills, as well as good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Effective time management and problem solving skills;
  • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors’ operations on sales,
  • Must have own transportation;
  • Over five (5) years of management experience in the food industry and/or grocery store;
  • Must able to lift, bend up to 50 lb;
  • Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
  • Ability to grow wholesale business by conducting effective lead generation calls;
  • Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone;
  • Availability and flexibility;
  • High school diploma or comparable certification (e.g. GED).
