An NDT Inspector conducts non-destructive testing to assess the integrity of structures or materials, identifying defects that could lead to failure or safety risks. Responsibilities include data interpretation, report generation, and compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform non-destructive testing on materials, structures, and components
- Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
- Identify and document defects and anomalies in materials, structures, and components
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspection results
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with quality control and safety standards
- Stay up-to-date with new testing methods and technologies
- Train and mentor junior inspectors
- Attend meetings with clients and contractors to discuss inspection findings and recommendations
Requirements:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as an NDT Inspector by a recognized certifying body
- Knowledge of various NDT techniques such as magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic testing, and visual testing
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficient in the use of NDT equipment and software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or anomalies
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear and concise reports
- Familiarity with safety regulations and the ability to adhere to safety protocols while performing inspections
