Health and Safety Advisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Sharing feedback, observations and reporting details related to regional HS&E achievements and opportunities with regional managers and people leaders;
- Supporting modified duty programs, as required;
- Supporting the implementation of the Certificate of Recognition Program (COR) for the Manitoba Region;
- Ensuring emergency response plans are in place and aligned with local regulatory, regional, divisional and corporate requirements;
- Conducting and supporting the annual Safety Management System Audit;
- Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and practices in the area of health, safety and environment;
- Providing strong HS&E leadership, guidance, and support to assigned workplaces within Winnipeg and the greater Winnipeg area;
- Overseeing and/or participating in incident investigation and reviews;
- Development of Job Plan;
- Participating in regional planning.
Requirements:
- Training and experience in investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions;
- Customer (internal/external) Centric;
- Five years of related work experience in safety, preferable in a refinery environment;
- An in-progress, or completed Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification;
- Strong verbal, written, presentation & communication skills;
- Ability to communicate across all level of the organization;
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with key business partners;
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED);
- TapRooT or Kepner-Tregoe experience;
- Independent self-starter with high degree of confidence and project acumen;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, negotiations and communication skills;
- Leader of change;

- A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
