EH&S Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a EH&S Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and annually review EHS Procedures and Work Instructions in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices;
- Maintain Waste Water Program & Sewer Usage Discharge Agreement for the Rods Room;
- Review & evaluate chemical purchases for the site to ensure regulatory compliance;
- Administer the Laboratory Safety Programs;
- Maintain Permits – C of A for exhaust hoods and emergency back-up generator;
- Participate on the Moves, Adds, Changes Committee (MAC) to proactively ensure EH&S compliance with any upcoming changes.
Requirements:
- Must hold a valid passport and be able to travel internationally;
- Lean Manufacturing experience beneficial;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment;
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in progressively responsible EHS roles within medical or life sciences industry and lab/R&D operations;
- This position requires up to 10% travel;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Must possess or be working towards obtaining a CHSC or CRSP designation;
- Requires Lead auditor certification or presently capable of being certified;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Engineering is required;
- Ability to influence others without authority;
- Demonstrated ability to determine training needs, organize and conduct training;
- Can effectively deal with ambiguity;
- Previous experience in carrying out Hazard Analysis, incident investigation and Risk Assessment;
- Previous experience in dealing with regulatory agencies;
- Strong organizational skills and adherence to informational systems and processes.
