A truck trailer mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining trailer units attached to trucks. They troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, handle brake and electrical repairs, as well as ensure roadworthiness of the trailers.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • High level of proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems used in trucks and trailers.
  • Ability to perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotations.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication of metal parts for trucks and trailers.
  • Familiarity with computer diagnostic systems and software used in modern trucks and trailers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency repairs when required.
