Service Install Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Service Install Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Installation of cabling and conduit, and security system components;
- Take surveys of sites for installation when necessary;
- Report progress to Service & Installation Administrator daily;
- Determine layout and installation procedures;
- Assemble and install products, utilize hand and power tools;
- Provide system training and ongoing support to customers;
- Troubleshoot security systems, computers, software, and networks;
- Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment;
- Service and install signs as scheduled by Service & Installation Administrator;
- Measure and mark guidelines to be used for installations;
- Record and file record of truck inventory at the end of each use;
- Enter time and materials on project work orders;
- View company material and labour costs ensuring budgets are maintained and cost saving measures are identified;
- Ability to work in a team environment for large projects;
- Complete and submit work orders to Service & Installation Administrator at the end of each shift.
Requirements:
- Ability to effectively represent the company and communicate with others at varying technical levels;
- G driver’s license;
- Experience in manufacturing or construction environment;
- Strong Understanding of Ontario Health & Safety regulations;
- Knowledge in basic electrical systems and low voltage electronics;
- Working at Heights, scissor lift and first aid certification strongly preferred (will train);
- Professional and energetic personality with the ability to deal with different people;
- Minimum 2 years experience with security systems or networks;
- Experience in sign installation and service an asset;
- Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms;
- Ability to work afternoon, nights and weekends;
- Strong communication and documentation skills;
- Knowledge of video surveillance, access control, burglary systems an asset;
- Safety training, WHMIS, and Scissor lift training an asset.
