Our company is looking for a Automotive Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairing or replacing worn and damaged parts;
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the customer;
  • Diagnosing vehicle problems;
  • Receive repair orders from dispatch tower/Service Advisor and perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy;
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts;
  • Complete and maintain documentation of work performed;
  • Ensure that customers’ cars are kept clean;
  • Completing approved service on customer vehicles;
  • Honda Fort St. John reserves the right to modify this job description as business needs require;
  • Comply with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes;
  • Inform dispatcher when job is started, finished, or interrupted. Be particularly attentive to repair orders on vehicles marked “CUSTOMER WAITING”;
  • Receive repair orders from shop loader or service manager and take vehicle to stall areas;
  • Operating company and customer vehicles in a clean and safe manner;
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer;
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups.

Requirements:

  • Must be committed to consistently delivering high quality work;
  • A highly self-motivated and organized individual;
  • Possess strong diagnostic and problem solving skills in order to maintain optimal customer satisfaction;
  • Good judgment;
  • Must be a fully licensed Technician with RedSeal certification;
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions;
  • A valid class 5 British Columbia driver’s license, and ability to provide clean drivers abstract for review;
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information;
  • Co-operation and Team work;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively work with other members of the Service Department team;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Manual dexterity;
  • Automotive Service Technician license;
  • General mechanical skills;
  • Working knowledge of automotive equipment.
