Our company is looking for a Optician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences;
  • Provide honest and confident feedback to patients regarding eyewear selections;
  • Perform tasks including stock work, re-merchandising, display and light cleaning;
  • Greet patients in a timely, professional and engaging manner;
  • Provide information on the best lenses for patients’ needs and everyday life;
  • Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical charts;
  • Initiate consultations by asking open-ended questions to learn the patients’ preferences and needs;
  • Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames;
  • Operate manual lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients;
  • Ability to perform technical measurement and adjustments of eyewear;
  • Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues;
  • Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety;
  • Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires;
  • Work as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best service possible.

Requirements:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to details;
  • College diploma in opticianry, ophthalmic dispensing or optical sciences program;
  • Knowledge of current optical practices;
  • 1+ years’ experience;
  • Currently in school;
  • Experience with both contact lenses and glasses;
  • Ability to operate lensometers and other equipment;
  • Registered Optician with The College of Opticians of Ontario;
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills required;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and teamwork skills;
  • At least 1+ years’ experience dispensing corrective lenses.
