A Behavior Consultant assesses and develops strategies to improve problematic behaviors. Responsibilities encompass conducting assessments, creating behavior intervention plans, and training staff or family members to implement these strategies effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct behavioral assessments to identify the needs of clients
- Develop and implement behavior plans to address the needs of clients
- Provide training and support to clients, families, and caregivers on behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychologists and social workers, to provide comprehensive care for clients
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior plans and make necessary adjustments
- Document all client interactions and progress in accordance with company policies and state regulations
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in behavior analysis
- Attend trainings and conferences to maintain professional development and certification requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in behavior analysis or therapy
- Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or eligibility to sit for the certification exam
- Strong knowledge of behavior analysis principles and techniques
- Experience in conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans
- Ability to train and supervise staff and caregivers on behavior intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate client schedules
