A Behavior Consultant assesses and develops strategies to improve problematic behaviors. Responsibilities encompass conducting assessments, creating behavior intervention plans, and training staff or family members to implement these strategies effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct behavioral assessments to identify the needs of clients
  • Develop and implement behavior plans to address the needs of clients
  • Provide training and support to clients, families, and caregivers on behavior management techniques
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychologists and social workers, to provide comprehensive care for clients
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior plans and make necessary adjustments
  • Document all client interactions and progress in accordance with company policies and state regulations
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in behavior analysis
  • Attend trainings and conferences to maintain professional development and certification requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in behavior analysis or therapy
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or eligibility to sit for the certification exam
  • Strong knowledge of behavior analysis principles and techniques
  • Experience in conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans
  • Ability to train and supervise staff and caregivers on behavior intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate client schedules
