Hosts and hostesses greet customers and manage reservations and waiting lists. They may direct customers to coatrooms, restrooms, or a waiting area until their table is ready. Hosts and hostesses provide menus after seating guests.

Our company is looking for a Host/Hostess to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party;
  • Provide guests with estimated waiting time;
  • Relay messages to servers and buspersons as needed;
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible;
  • Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations;
  • Receive and assign guests’ reservations and tables;
  • Taking care of the laundry;
  • Manage financial statements and records;
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety standards in reception and other areas, keeps lobby area guest ready;
  • Serve at mealtimes : prepare breakfasts, aperitifs and drinks, describe the wine and cheese you serve;
  • Escorts guests to their assigned table, delivers and presents menus to all guests;
  • Answers the telephone in a timely, pleasant and courteous manner. Correctly takes, confirms and documents reservations;
  • Promotes specials with enthusiasm and confidence;
  • Accept payment from guests for food and beverages;
  • Give a warm welcome to the guests : take care of them and anticipate their needs.

Requirements:

  • Graduation of secondary school is required;
  • Outgoing and confident, comfortable promoting items and services;
  • Well organized and efficient, able to multi task;
  • Able to communicate well with wide variety of people, adapts tone, builds rapport;
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests;
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours);
  • Team player, works productively with others;
  • Experience is an asset. On the job training will be provided;
  • No previous restaurant experience required;
  • Must have exceptional grooming habits;
  • High energy, shows a sense of urgency;
  • Well groomed, smiles readily, good eye contact, friendly and polite, creates a great first impression.
