Riggers specialize in assembling and installing rigging gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches to lift, lower, move or position machinery, equipment and structural components. They ensure safety and efficiency in various industries including construction, shipping, and entertainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Rigging and de-rigging heavy equipment and materials
  • Inspecting rigging equipment regularly and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Calculating load weights and determining the appropriate rigging equipment and methods
  • Communicating with crane operators and other personnel to ensure safe and efficient work practices
  • Assembling and disassembling temporary structures such as scaffolding, platforms, and rigging frames
  • Operating winches, hoists, and other rigging equipment
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on rigging equipment as needed
  • Keeping detailed records of rigging activities and equipment maintenance

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a rigger
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Expertise in using hand and power tools to assemble and disassemble rigging equipment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in rigging operations
  • Physical strength and dexterity to lift and move heavy objects
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Flexibility to work in different environments and weather conditions
  • Certification in rigging and hoisting operations preferred
