The Worship Director oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of worship services. They are responsible for selecting music, guiding rehearsals, and enhancing the overall worship experience. They also collaborate with other musicians and worship leaders to promote a spiritually enriching atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the music ministry of the church
- Coordinate and schedule all music rehearsals and worship services
- Select appropriate music and worship songs for each service
- Recruit and develop musicians and vocalists for the worship team
- Ensure that the sound and lighting systems are properly set up and functioning
- Collaborate with the pastoral staff to plan and execute worship services
- Participate in staff meetings and attend training and conferences to stay current with worship trends and technology
Requirements:
- Proficiency in playing at least one instrument and leading worship music
- Knowledge of music theory and ability to read sheet music
- Ability to lead a team of musicians and vocalists
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with senior pastors and creative team
- Familiarity with audio and visual equipment commonly used in worship services
- Understanding of Biblical worship principles and ability to incorporate them in worship services
- Experience in organizing and planning worship services and events
- Ability to train and develop other musicians and vocalists in the worship team
