A Hockey Instructor imparts knowledge of hockey techniques, strategies, and rules to individuals or teams. Responsibilities include planning training sessions, evaluating player performance, and ensuring safety during practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute lesson plans for individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels
  • Provide on-ice instruction and demonstrations of hockey techniques and skills
  • Develop and implement training programs that focus on physical conditioning and skill development
  • Assist with the organization and management of hockey games and tournaments
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the progress of individual players and make adjustments to training programs as needed
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during on-ice activities
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaches to establish goals and expectations
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field of hockey instruction and incorporate new techniques and strategies into training programs

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of hockey rules, techniques, and strategies
  • Ability to create and implement effective lesson plans for players of all ages and skill levels
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate players
  • Experience playing and/or coaching hockey at a competitive level
  • Ability to manage and maintain hockey equipment and facilities
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Passion for the sport and a desire to inspire and develop players of all abilities.
