A Hockey Instructor imparts knowledge of hockey techniques, strategies, and rules to individuals or teams. Responsibilities include planning training sessions, evaluating player performance, and ensuring safety during practice.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute lesson plans for individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels
- Provide on-ice instruction and demonstrations of hockey techniques and skills
- Develop and implement training programs that focus on physical conditioning and skill development
- Assist with the organization and management of hockey games and tournaments
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the progress of individual players and make adjustments to training programs as needed
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during on-ice activities
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaches to establish goals and expectations
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field of hockey instruction and incorporate new techniques and strategies into training programs
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of hockey rules, techniques, and strategies
- Ability to create and implement effective lesson plans for players of all ages and skill levels
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate players
- Experience playing and/or coaching hockey at a competitive level
- Ability to manage and maintain hockey equipment and facilities
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed
- Passion for the sport and a desire to inspire and develop players of all abilities.
