Sport Staff Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sport Staff to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations. Responds and reports any type of emergency;
- Evaluates guests’ physical condition to participate in various sport and fitness activities;
- Performs stilt walking for parades on Voyager and Ultra Voyager class ships as necessary;
- Assist Explorations at the front desk, back office ticket processing, and dispatching tours when necessary dependant on ticket sales;
- Performs regular inventory of all equipment and supplies. Determines if equipment requires replacement or repair;
- Assembles and disassembles equipment and props required for activities. Returns items to storage area;
- Participates in greeting and directing guests on and off the gangways when the ship has arrived in the ports of call;
- Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required;
- Prepares all required reports utilizing the computer equipment;
- Participates in debarkation procedures by disseminating information, and directing and escorting guests to staterooms and or exits;
- Socialising with guests in public areas at all times in accordance with Company standards;
- Organise and conduct tournaments;
- Respond to guest complaints in a considerate, professional and positive manner by showing concern and listening actively;
- Promote and serve as Master of Ceremonies in Sports Deck activities;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Master of Ceremonies experience preferred;
- Ability to speak a high level of English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests;
- Ability to provide one-on-one rock climbing wall instruction. Rock Climbing (manual belay) certification preferred;
- Age : at least 21 years old;
- Other language skills are desired (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French or German preferred);
- Rock Wall Climbing Certification with belay experience necessary;
- 1 year physical fitness and/or recreational sports instruction required;
- CPR certification and lifesaving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organisation preferred;
- Degree or diploma in the field of sports, fitness, nutrition or similar preferred;
- Proven customer service skills to interact with guests in a considerate, professional and positive manner;
- Language skills: English – advanced level – MANDATORY.
