A tilesetter is a skilled worker who installs tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces. Responsibilities:

  • tile layout planning and design according to specifications and blueprints
  • cutting and shaping of tiles to fit around obstacles and into corners using hand and power tools
  • preparation of surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing
  • installation of tiles using adhesives, cement, and grout
  • measurement and cutting of tiles to fit specific areas
  • ensuring that tiles are properly aligned and spaced
  • handling of any issues that arise during the installation process
  • ensuring that all safety protocols are followed while working on job sites

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a tilesetter or similar role
  • Knowledge of tile materials, patterns, and installation techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and requirements for working with tile and related materials
  • Physical dexterity and ability to work with hand and power tools
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and other tradespeople
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
