A tilesetter is a skilled worker who installs tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces. Responsibilities:
- tile layout planning and design according to specifications and blueprints
- cutting and shaping of tiles to fit around obstacles and into corners using hand and power tools
- preparation of surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing
- installation of tiles using adhesives, cement, and grout
- measurement and cutting of tiles to fit specific areas
- ensuring that tiles are properly aligned and spaced
- handling of any issues that arise during the installation process
- ensuring that all safety protocols are followed while working on job sites
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a tilesetter or similar role
- Knowledge of tile materials, patterns, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Knowledge of safety procedures and requirements for working with tile and related materials
- Physical dexterity and ability to work with hand and power tools
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and other tradespeople
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
