Tilesetter Helper Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Tilesetter Helper to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in shaping, measuring, and assembling material;
- Deliver or hold materials or tools to help tradesman and, provide assistance in other activities;
- Align and straighten tile using levels, squares and straightedges;
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas;
- Clean up of job sites;
- Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets;
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as cement, and spread mortar;
- Select tools, equipment, and materials from storage and transport items to work site;
- Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces;
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed by tradesman;
- Prepare, measure and mark surface to be covered;
- Assist tradesmen in laying cover interior and exterior walls, floors and ceilings with ceramic, marble and quarry tile, mosaics or terrazzo;
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools;
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
Requirements:
- No formal education requirements. Completion of secondary school will be an asset;
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment;
- Working setting: The candidate should be available to work full-time;
- No specific language requirements. Basic knowledge of English will be an asset;
- Outstanding attention to detail;
- Ability to walk stands, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks;
- Ability to work for long hours while sitting on knees;
- Requires lifting, pulling and carrying of equipment and other objects;
- Candidate should be willing to work outdoors, indoors and all weather conditions;
- Some work experience as a construction labourer would be an asset, on the job training can be provided.
