A Millwright Apprentice assists in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery under the guidance of seasoned Millwrights. Responsibilities include learning technical blueprints, handling tools, and performing routine checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist millwrights in the installation, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble and disassemble machinery
  • Inspect and test machinery to diagnose issues and troubleshoot problems
  • Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Attend on-the-job training and complete required coursework to become a certified millwright

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a millwright pre-apprenticeship program is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools for the assembly and maintenance of machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and regulations.
