Responsibilities:

  • Construct and assemble formwork for concrete foundations, walls, and slabs
  • Measure and cut materials to desired specifications using hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to determine project requirements
  • Ensure formwork is level, plumb, and square, using levels, lasers, and other measuring tools
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in the formwork
  • Remove formwork after concrete has cured
  • Inspect and maintain formwork to ensure it is in good condition and safe for use
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and schematics accurately
  • Expertise in using measuring and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood, plastic, and metal formwork materials
  • Proficiency in constructing and installing wall, column, beam, and slab formwork according to project specifications
  • Capability to mix and apply concrete and other construction materials to form slab and foundation footings
  • Experience in dismantling and removing formwork after concrete has set and completing finishing work on cured concrete surfaces
  • Physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions
  • Strong mathematical skills to calculate measurements, quantities, and angles required for formwork construction
