Our company is looking for a Construction Labourer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed;
  • Seals bags, using duct tape, and loads bags into truck;
  • Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment;
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications;
  • Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials;
  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers in construction work;
  • Flagging certificate and experience considered an asset;
  • Participate in project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and report on progression of building;
  • Thaw lines;
  • Must have own transportation;
  • A valid driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract are mandatory;
  • Aid in overseeing construction sites to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations and safety codes;
  • Aid in the management of construction site startup;
  • Work alongside the Site Supervisor to resolve any constructional issues that may arise;
  • Ensure accurate and timely project close date; help to adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
  • Teamwork is necessary however there are times where direction will need to be taken to complete a task alone;
  • No experience necessary, on job training;
  • A solid understanding of all residential construction trades and construction techniques;
  • Communication in English is necessary;
  • Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity;
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in general contracting company preferred;
  • No minimum education;
  • Team player with enthusiasm to improve oneself and ability to learn from work;
  • General understanding of Construction;
  • A valid driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract are mandatory;
  • Must have own transportation;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of OH&S regulations and related residential building codes;
  • Flagging certificate and experience considered an asset.
